straightlabs developed an immersive virtual reality experience as a mountain rescue at dizzying heights for Bayrischer Rundfunk and the Bavarian Mountain Rescue Service in 2020. It is the first project of its kind.
The virtual reality installation offers an extraordinary access to the world of mountain rescue. The user slips into the role of an injured person and can experience an alpine mountain experience between the rush of heights and the abyss. Through the induced immersion, the work of the rescue forces and the moment when the helicopter takes off can be experienced realistically.
